Schleswig-Holstein has a holiday road, which connects cheese producing enterprises as a travel route. As the enterprises are scattered around the county the cheese roads runs around the whole of Schleswig-Holstein.

The first presentation of the cheese road happened in July 1999.
Beginning of 2000 the association 'Käsestraße Schleswig-Holstein' was founded.
