In Alt-Mühlendorf near Nortorf a hydropower station with a capacity of 23 Kilowatt is being operated.
The facility is housed in a former mill building, which was built in the year 1860. It receives the water for the power generation from the Brahm Lake, the Warder Lake, the Pohl Lake and the Lust Lake, a combined water surface of circa 3 km².
The usable descent is around two metres.

Already in 1913, still in mill operation, electrical power was created from hydro power for the first time. Then a d.c. generator fed a battery from which light was created for the mill operator and the neighbours. In 1949 with the change to three-phase current, the general electricity supplier took over the supply to all neighbours, which had used the hydro power supply. Since 1971 a turbine powers a generator of 23 Kilowatt.
